2016 Goals, Riding the Birthday High

Today marks the 44nd anniversary of my birth. With my birthday in January, it allows me to have a full year of life that coincides with the calendar, and let me tell you, I've got big plans for 2016.

It started with a discussion about planning. Well, let me rephrase that: It started with me getting anxious about the fact that my writing had slowed down to the point of almost nil. I wanted to get back into the swing of things after a spectacular 2015 (five published works, including the novel Metamorphic Heart), but found myself floundering. I'd seen a few posts and had a few discussions about what I wanted for the next year, especially in light of the fact that I didn't want to burn myself out. So I sat down one day and made a month to month goal list. I included my writing, my volunteer work, major family events and vacations. Each item requires a massive time commitment.

Here's January - and (Yeah!) I've already got a few items crossed off:

Blog Post - review 2015 and goals for 2016

Complete Al’s Story/Spin Play by January 30th
Complete chapters 2 and 3 of Hammer’s Thief
Book trip to Vegas
Book trip to Disney
Girl Scout Cookie Sales

And then I get to cross out one more once I post.

But what you really want to know is my ultimate writing goal for 2016, so here goes:
Spin Play, book four of my Southern Jersey Shores series will be published in early May. This one is all fun and games.
Hammer's Thief, book two of my Chosen Angels series (a novel length follow-up to Lion's Hero) will hopefully be published in early December.
I'm co-writing Of Gods and Monsters: Kalfu with Francu Godgluck, with planned publication either late in 2016 or early 2017.
And KC Faelan and I hope to reconnect on a shifter series.

Busy 2016, but I'll be leaving plenty of room for fun, friends and family.
