Flash Fiction 1-31-15

“Here?” I could feel my eyes open-wide. I gazed around at the strangely empty park.

“Here.” He nodded seriously. His jaw set in that stubborn hold without allowance for refusal.

“I…”

“What’s the problem? Look. There’s no one here to see.”

“But…”

“Do you want this or not? Do you want me or not?”

“You know I do,” I said softly.

He held out his hands to me, and as I grasped them, he pulled me forward, spun me and playfully dipped me.

“Then marry me. Today.”

“Alright.”

Cheers resounded from family and friends approaching from all sides.

“Surprise, baby.”
