April 2024 - Flash Fiction

 Begone, foul creature!

“Begone, foul creature!” Milton said, brandishing his tiny wooden sword.

The monster growled, low and deep, but Milton protected his charge. Penn was his. His boy. They’d been together since Penn was born. He thrust his sword at the creature’s snout, landing a solid bonk on the nose.

The sharp-toothed demon reared back, peering down at Milton in confusion. “I was only here to give him a nightmare. That’s my job.”

“Well, I’m here to say no. No nightmares for my Penn.” He jabbed at the beast again. “Slip away, return to your domain under the bed, and never return.”

Flash Fiction 10-18-15 #2

He sighed, slumped, all the fight left from his lanky frame. “How much time do we have?”

“Enough.” I squeeze him tighter, and he lays a kiss on my forearm. “How are you feeling?”

“A little sore, but…” He twists to face me. “I’d do it again in a heartbeat.”

I laugh and smile, cupping his face and kissing him. “Me too.” I kiss him a second time. And then a third.

He pulls back and resumes his place in my arms. Another sigh, and a tiny squirm. “Do you think next time…?”

I nod. “Yes. I want you to.”

It's JUNE! New Releases and New Flash Fic

Holy Moly! Where did the time go?

It's June and I'm a little behind on my normal flow. The end of May was rough as I had a small procedure done and it took more out of me than I expected. The hazards of ageing, sadly. But I'm ready to rock through June and then hit the keys hard in July for Camp NaNoWriMo.

Two New Releases and one to go!

June Flash Fic - Steel and his Daddy

Before you read this... Daddy Charles is called Daddy Nix by his boys.
Why is a secret! If you figure it out, shh!

“Why are we here, Daddy?” Steel rubbed his nose trying to clear the musty, dusty scent invading his senses.

“I’m looking for a book, and I have it on good authority that what I’m looking for will be here.”

“An old book?” Steel crowded Daddy Nix as they stepped farther inside the dimly lit store. He glanced around and realized that the story was maybe not so dimly lit as it was the full stacks blocking the overhead lights and throwing a multitude of shadows.

“Yes.”

“What kind of old book? Do you think they have a book for me? I like adventure books with lots of magic and dragons? Sometimes I imagine I’m a dragon shifter and I have to save my brother from the evil wizard.”

Daddy smiled at him, a flicker of flame dancing in his eyes. “A dragon shifter, huh? I would have thought you’d want to be Pegasus.” He led Steel through the aisles towards a large counter covered in books and a cash register.

“Pegasus! No way. He’s too white. I’m jet black, so I’d have to be an evil Pegasus, and I don’t want to. I wanna be the good guy.”

“Always best be to the good guy,” a deep voice rumbled behind Steel, startling him. He jumped and clung to Daddy’s arm, annoyed that he’d been so distracted he hadn’t noticed the stranger come up behind them.

Once he got his breathing under control, Steel peeked at the man who’d spoken. He looked up and up, marveling at the giant. It was rare he met someone bigger than himself. The man had a good six inches on Steel and at least fifty pounds---all muscle. He had a thick, bushy head of dark hair and an equally busy beard to match.

“Holy moly, Daddy! He’s huge!”

The giant rumbled, the thrumming hitting Steel in the chest and causing him to laugh along with the huge man. Steel couldn’t stop the question spinning through his brain. “Are you a giant?”

“Nope,” the giant chuckled, “I’m a dragon.”

Steel’s eyes widened. “For real?”

The giant smiled, his teeth gleaming white as it shone through the scruffy, fluffy dark beard. “For real.” He held up a hand and shiny blue scales rippled across the back of it and up his arm. As quick as they appeared, they disappeared.

The dragon studied them for a moment. “A Legendary with a Stallion. Interesting. I smell a third, too, another Stallion. Very, very---”

Daddy cleared his throat.

“As you wish,” the dragon shifter finished. “I have what you are looking for, Legendary, and I may have something for your boy. May I?” He offered a few fingers towards Steel who glanced from them to Daddy.

Daddy stared at the dragon for a long minute.

The dragon placed his hand over his heart. “You have nothing to fear from me. I will keep him safe. The book you desire is there on the edge of the counter.” He pointed to a thick book, bound in a red and gold hardcover.

“The book for your boy is this way.” The dragon swung his hand to indicate further into the store’s depths.

Steel wanted the book, but he didn’t really want to leave Daddy’s side. The dragon seemed nice enough; he’d be okay. He could be big for a few minutes even though Daddy said he could be little all day.

“I’ll go with you,” Daddy said, wrapping a protective arm around Steel’s waist.

Steel curled into Daddy Nix and kissed his cheek, contentment warming his core. He hadn’t had to say anything; his daddy knew. Steel hugged him tight. “Thank you, Daddy. You’re the best daddy ever.”

The Merry Month of May

May is all about being Merry! Got lots of stuff going on this month. Open House for Marching Band, Band Concerts, Books Releasing, Mother's Day. Might not be enough hours to get all the reading in I love to do. And let's not forget writing. Hoping to make goal again this month.

First, that date above! Yup, that's the release date for Ultimate Summer. Frisbees, hot sweaty bodies, shirts versus skins. Oh yeah!

When Brett gets tagged by a flying disc, launched from the hands of ultimate frisbee player Sean, he doesn't expect the mutual attraction to hit just as hard and fast. Sometimes all it takes is a single day to jumpstart an ultimate summer.

Flash Fiction

This month's Flash is the start of the next Forest Edge Story... Flint, Steel, and Daddy Charles. I'm still debating what kind of shifter Daddy is. I've made a preliminary decision which I'm keeping a secret for now. Sorry! I don't have a title yet either. Crazy, right??

 Hello Steel!

Steel (unedited)

“Here.” Flint shoved a large gift bag at Steel.

“What’s this?” Steel took the bag with two hands, expecting it to be heavy and finding it to be surprisingly light. “A present for me?”

Steel lifted the colorful bag decorated for a baby shower or infant birthday party. Lots of cartoon animals and bright balloons. He glanced from the bag to his older brother, narrowing his gaze. Flint bought me another baby toy? His brother was starting to go a little overboard since he’d expressed an interest in age play after seeing all the littles and middles living in Forest Edge. Truth be told, Steel thought the idea appealed to Flint, too, especially with the enthusiasm he’d put into creating a nursery room for Steel to play in.

There hadn’t been a whole lot of toys, games or playtime growing up. Their mom had divorced their dad when Steel was five because his profession put too much stress on her. She’d taken them with her initially, but Dad had fought for custody. Since Mom didn’t have a huge support network and her income wasn’t much even with alimony, they’d ended up moving back and living with him the majority of the time. They’d seen their mom every other weekend until Steel turned twelve, when she remarried and moved away. After that, they’d only seen her a few weeks in the summer and at the holidays. She had kids with her new husband and had a new life, one that had little space for two teenagers.

Their father and uncle owned and ran a security firm and bounty office. The bounty side of things, tracking down criminals who’d skipped bail, got a greater share of the business, but occasionally a high-profile client would come to the city and want an extra layer of protection. Growing up, they’d loved to hear the stories their father would tell them about so-and-so actor at a party or having “a night on the town.”

When Flint was thirteen, their father deemed him old enough to look after eight-year-old Steel. Unfortunately, their father’s job often meant there’d been a lot of nights when he never came home, leaving them to fend for themselves. When their father was home, however, and not occupied with hunting down bail-jumpers, he trained his kids in martial arts and shooting. By the time, Steel was eighteen and had earned his high school diploma, he could take down a guy twice his size and shoot a man-sized target in the heart at 25 yards consistently. His sniper skills exceeded those of any one else working for his dad, although they’d never be used on the job. He was also proficient in fighting with knives and staves. His father had been so proud of “his boy.”

At 19 and 24, Steel and Flint became the most prolific of the bounty hunter teams, but that all changed three years later. Both his father and uncle had teamed up to be bodyguards for an up-and-coming new female singer. She had the voice and the looks, unfortunately, she also had a no-filter mouth on her that pissed a lot of people off. She’d made more than a few enemies and had a couple threats against her; enough that her PR team thought a couple of extra hands on deck would be prudent.

A crazed stalker, shouting how she had disrespected him one too many times, opened fire with an assault weapon at the bar where she’d been holding court after a concert. Their father had been killed protecting the client and their uncle severely injured by a row of gunshots down his left arm and leg. Unable to keep the business afloat, their uncle sent them off into the world.

With nothing to hold him together, Steel grieved long and hard. Flint tried all sorts of things to snap him out of it. He’d cooked Steel all his favorite foods, took him out for meals and to the movies, insisted they play stupid board games together. One night, at his wits end, he’d hugged Steel and then kissed him. Steel had frozen for all of a single second before he grabbed Flint tight and kissed him back. They’d always had each other, neither had dated, both knew they preferred men over women. Flint often said, Steel knew him better then he knew himself, and Steel could say the same. Being with his older brother intimately was just the right progression for them.

That night, they hadn’t done more than kiss and cuddle in bed; they’d also talked until the sun was peeking through the curtains. Flint then dragged Steel into the shower, where he proceeded to wash every inch of Steel’s body before dropping to his knees and sucking him off. Of course, Flint, being the gentleman he was, told Steel he didn’t have to reciprocate, which made Steel angry. Fuck, yeah, he wanted to reciprocate. He shut off the water and tossed a towel at Flint while he dried himself thoroughly. Back in the bedroom, he tackled Flint onto the bed and then took his sweet time ramping his brother up before letting him come.

Following their sexual initiation, they took to learning each other’s bodies as well as they knew each other’s minds and personalities. They watched porn together and experimented with positions and role playing, but neither had an inkling about age play until they moved to Forest Edge. Damn, that had been an eye-opener for sure.

Steel had gravitated right to the littles. He’d left blocks, legos, toy cars and Candyland behind before he’d been ready. Flint was too much of a brat to be a little, but Steel thought he identified with the teenage middles. He’d never been good about making decisions, so the guidance aspect worked for him. He’d always made a better employee than supervisor.

“Aren’t you going to open it?”

Steel glanced at his big brother---older brother, since he was actually the bigger of the two of them. Flint carried a beer he must have gotten from the refrigerator while Steel had been lost in thought. He took a long drag as he peered over the bottle’s edge at Steel.

“I promise it won’t bite.”

Fuck, Flint’s smirk was sexy, but the draw of the present proved too much for Steel to ignore. He knelt on the floor with the bag in front of him and began pulling out the tissue paper and throwing it every which way. If it was a baby toy, then he could be a baby about opening it, right?

The sight of white fur made him pause, the cute black button nose had him leaning closer. “Oh Flint,” Steel sighed as he reached inside and lifted out a large polar bear. He hugged the bear to his chest and nuzzled into the soft fur of its neck. “Gods, he’s adorable.”

April Showers...

Ah, those pesky rain clouds...

Well, it wouldn't be April here in Southern New Jersey if we didn't get a significant amount of rain, which works well for this month's Flash Fiction featuring Jackey and Daddy Kev. Enjoy!

“Jackey? What’re you doing?”

Jackey turned from the rain-splattered window. Daddy leaned in the doorway, looking incredible as always. Jackey loved Daddy’s tall, muscular body, his dark brown eyes, and super sexy beard. He always felt tiny compared to his bear shifter mate, but considering he was a fox shifter, that kind of made sense. He held one of Jackey’s favorite shirts, the one with a baby fox nestled between a bear and wolverine that his friend Ryan had drawn for them.

“I’m watching for flowers, Daddy.” Jackey drew his knees up and wrapped his arms around them. Seeing the shirt made Jackey realize he was cold. He’d been so excited to see the rain now that it was April that he hadn’t finished getting dressed. “It’s a proven fact that April showers bring May flowers.” He nodded sharply for emphasis.

“This is true, but they don’t just pop up because it rains,” Daddy explained, working the shirt open as he stepped closer. He slid it over Jackey’s head, and Jackey pushed his arms through the sleeves. “I should probably grab you a sweatshirt, too,” he mused, rubbing Jackey’s upper arms which he now noticed were covered in goose bumps.

“Where’s Sir?” Jackey asked, lifting his face for a kiss.

Kiss given, Daddy laughed. “I guess you were right. He’s out buying flowers.”

Jackey crowed. He hopped off the windowsill and began chanting, “April showers bring May flowers, April showers bring May flowers.”

March Holiday Flash and a New Short Story

Yup, I'm totally not Irish at all. My kids have a tiny bit, but it's totally Eastern European and Hungarian/Romanian for me. Won't stop me from wearing GREEN, though. In this month's flash fiction I took advantage of a comment I recently heard: Everybody's Irish in March. Enjoy!

Starring Storm, Kev, and Jackie from Face to Face...

Storm silently observed as a war of sorts had started between his mates. It began with Jackie attaching paper four-leaf clovers to the windows. Kev retaliated with fake floral greenery in verdant vases. Jackie wore green-stripes socks and green polka-dot undies while Kev seemed to have a never-ending supply of "Kiss Me, I'm Irish" T-shirts. There was a themed tablecloth and napkins one morning, followed by matching dishes the next. One night, Kev dyed Jackie's bathwater green with one of those kid-safe pellets. The next evening, every soap in the house had been replaced by a green glycerin one. We went to bed on dark green sheets and woke up with blankets decorated with shamrocks. Seriously… St. Patrick’s Day could not come fast enough for him. Why, oh why, was everyone Irish in March?

***

And the big news:
A new Ryan and his daddies short story is now available!!

Ryan's Weekend Retreat

The summer is drawing to a close, and Ryan misses spending time with his daddies. Everybody's so busy...and stressed out. When Daddy Eli orders Ryan and Daddy Jon to pack, Ryan is thrilled. The view from the lake house is amazing: a huge forest, a wide lake, a firepit. The view from the bed is also pretty wild. His daddies know how to spoil their little boy: with lots of love, kisses, and other assorted fun.

Ryan’s Weekend Retreat takes place immediately following the conclusion of Hand in Hand and continues the tale of Ryan, Daddy Eli, and Daddy Jon for a few more glorious days.

Happy New Year - Coming soon & 100 Words of Flint and Steel

Happy New Year Everyone!

I hope you all had an enjoyable holiday season and a safe and happy new year's eve celebration. Good news for those of you anxious for another book. Drakken Moon and Drakken Sun will be released on January 15th and (hopefully) January 29th. If you like a mix of sci-fi and paranormal, plus fated mates and mpreg, these might just be for you.

100 Words

Okay, so this story is still a long way off, and I've got a lot to come before it gets completely written, but a little character creation never hurt. Here's the Stallion shifter brothers, Flint and Steel, who I introduced in Forest Edge #3, Face to Face. If you read the book, you'll remember how Flint kept flirting with Mr. Charles, but Steel never really got in on the action. Anyway, let's just consider this a tease for Forest Edge #4...

(Steel and Flint)

“Why are we doing this again?” Steel asked, his cheeks pinking as he hauled his shirt off over his head.

Flint eyed his brother’s ripped torso, tats, and smooth chest. No waxing for him, thank you very much. He pulled off his shirt and shucked his sweatpants. “We gotta entice him somehow.”

“I thought you were doing good getting him to notice us.”

We gotta get Mr. Charles to notice both of us. I’m not leaving you behind. You like him, right?”

“Yeah,” Steel sighed. “He’s so nice to Ryan, Marco, and Jackey. I want him to be our Daddy.”

New Release Completes Forest Edge Trilogy

I almost forget December's Flash Fiction, as I've had my nose deep in releasing the final book in the Forest Edge trilogy, along with completing edits for a new two-part series coming in January. Drakken Triumvirate is an expansion of an prior MMM sci-fi, dragon shifter, fated mate novella I wrote way back in 2015. It needed a heavy hand to fix the story and expand it to include all three points of view.

Anyway, I didn't forget, so here it is. A Sir, Daddy Kev, and Jackey flash.

A Thief in the Night?

“Daddy! Sir! Help!”

Storm and Kev raced upstairs in response to their boy’s heartfelt plea. Storm let Kev enter first, eyeing the floor littered with toys.

“Ow! Fuck!” Kev cursed and hopped, landing beside Jackey on the bed. “What’s wrong?”

Jackey threw himself into Kev’s arms. “Somebody took Teddy, Daddy! I can’t find him anywhere.” He pouted indignantly. “A thief took him.”

Storm snickered as Kev looked around the messy nursery. “Is that why all your toys are everywhere?”

“Oh no,” Jackey sing-songed. “It was already a mess.”

“Perhaps,” Storm offered, “if you clean, you’ll find him.”

Kev side-eyed Storm. “A thief, indeed.”

Daddy, Sir, and one adorable little boy named Jackey.

After years of waiting to complete their triad, fox shifter Jack finally has both his mates within his grasp. With them he can be the little he’s always wanted. But when circumstances take Sir away, Jackey’s distress alarms more than just Daddy Kev.

Bear shifter Kev has cared for Jack through the years the best he could—without the title he most desires: Daddy. Tired of his Bear tradition’s rule of waiting, he decides to act, only for their third mate to appear. With Storm’s arrival, they can be together, or so he thought.

At twenty-two, wolverine shifter Storm is surprised to discover his mates inside what his alpha considers enemy territory. Ready to leave his own pack, their mating means a new beginning where he can achieve the independence he’s longed for. If only he could stay…

When Storm leaves to keep his family safe, Kev is pulled in two directions. Somehow he must rescue Storm from his demanding alpha and still remain the daddy Jackey needs.

Face to Face is the third book in the Forest Edge Trilogy. Each story focuses on a new throuple with characters returning from previous books, an overall story arc, and mates finding their Happy Ever After. The series builds on the prior books and is best read in order.

November Flash

November Flash(back)

Many years ago, I did a slew of Flash Fiction and posted it on the now-defunct Google+. When Google pulled the plug on it, I moved all the posts here. This is the second to last one.  I'll be working on lots more in the months to come. Please, feel free to scroll through them all.

This one below is still one of my favorite pictures. It inspired a scene in Hammer's Thief between Locke and Judah.

Flash Fiction 10-11-15

“I have to go,” Mark whispered. His fingers fiddled with the buttons of his tux, looking everywhere, but not at me. He turned, and I lunged forward, grasping his arm, stopping him, and not a hundred percent sure I knew why.

There was something about him that called to me, something primal. A burning desire to touch him, hold him, protect him. Like a brightness illuminating the way. My path to salvation, or was it a road to my downfall? Either way, I couldn’t let him leave. Not after what we had done. And what I hoped to do again.

Forest Edge Update:

The final book in the Forest Edge Trilogy, Face to Face, is currently in proofreaders hands and will be released on KU on November 20th.

October Flash Fiction - NSFW - Teaser!

Many years ago, I started doing weekly (or so) Flash Fictions. I've nearly run out of the original ones I've been posting here and needed to create more for the monthly installment. I found this picture over on GR's MM Romance's Flash Fiction and More page. This picture was pure inspiration for Forest Edge #3: Face to Face. Jack, Daddy Kev and Sir (Storm) are the main characters of book three, but I'm not sure if I'll use this scene in the main book or for a Littles by the Lake episode. Either way, too good not to share.

Enjoy!

“On your knees,” Sir ordered.

Jack swallowed hard as he stared at Sir’s long cock. Beside Sir, Daddy’s broad, muscular body and thick shaft bespelled Jack with equal admiration and desire. He knelt in a slow, graceful descent and tucked his hands behind his back.

Sir nudged Daddy to stand on the other side of Jack. They stared down at him, eyes bright with lust. Their pheromones filled Jack’s nose, driving his own hunger for his men higher,

Daddy gripped Jack’s hair, tilting his head back. “Open wide, boy. We’ve got a cock or two that need your loving attention.”

August Flash

August Flash(back)

This became part of a scene in Hammer's Thief, book 2 of my Chosen Angels series.

Flash Fiction 9-13-15

Judah leaned against the concrete corner of the bakery, instantly feeling the cold seep through his many layers of clothing. He eyed the half dozen young men huddled together, most with hands around cups of coffee, cigarettes dangling from between fingertips or lips.

Locke was seated among them, laughing along with the other gang members at some comment or joke Judah hadn’t heard. The bright smile and shining eyes Locke currently had were so different from his depressed and stern countenance of the night before. Judah knew right then what he needed to do; he had to keep Locke happy.

July Flash

July Flash(back)

Inspiration for Moondrake. The picture stayed with me, but the scene totally changed in the story.

Flash Fiction April 4, 2015
This was another teaser for my #LOR story: Moondrake

When Manning entered their room he found Brandt sprawled on the small bed, an arm thrown over his face. As always, a single glance at his lover shot a rush of adrenaline through him.

“What happens now?” Brandt mumbled, his voice barely audible. Manning licked at his lips, but choose not to speak yet, instead he slid to the floor at the side of the bed.

The bed shifted at his back and Brandt’s head came to rest on his shoulder. Manning leaned into him, revealing in being able to feel his lover’s skin once more.

“Now, I train you.”

Flash Fiction April 11, 2015

Ronan forced Collin back against the wall, pinning his arms. He drove his hips forward, grinding his cock into Collin’s thigh. Head bent, he bit into Collin’s pec drawing a sharp gasp.

“Fuck, Ro. What are you doing?” Collin spluttered between exclamations of pain and surprise. He wrapped his foot around Ronan, locking their bodies together.

“Taking what I want,” Ro murmured into the hard muscle before swiping a large swath of flesh into his mouth, including Collin’s nipple. He grazed his teeth over the nub and flicked it for good measure. “And what I want is to fuck you.”

May Flash(back)

Inspiration for Moondrake

Drabble/Flash Fiction -  March 28, 2015 - 100 words, Same pictures, Different Authors

Manning knelt perfectly still so as not to draw Drottinn’s attention. He let his eyelids drift shut, cutting off the majority of the bright lights. The lack of touch and sight heightened his other senses. He breathed in that underlying sweet vanilla scent which never really vanished from Drottinn’s skin. Manning suspected he didn’t even realize he always wore it.

The tapping on the tablet halted, the scratching of pencil started, the process repeated several times, until there were no sounds at all, just a breath of warm air blown on his face and a press of lips to his.

April Flash

April Flash(back)

Flash Fiction April 4, 2015

Practice, practice, practice. Sometimes he makes me so mad. Always telling me what to do, where to do, reminding me over and over again to practice. Like I don’t already know. Bad enough I get it all the time from my coach, but why does he have to do it to?

I pounded through the water: freestyle, butterfly, breast, back. Again and again and again.

Yanked backwards, arms flailing, I was pulled upwards and surrounded. Lips caressed, kissing mine sweetly. I held on tight, didn’t even care who saw us. Daddy had me and all was right in my world.

March Flash

March Flash(back)

Inspiration for Crash Landing

Flash Fiction March 21, 2015

Colin headed down the hallway towards the kitchen glancing into the open doorways. He stopped, took two steps back, and leaned against the door jamb looking into the hall bathroom. Ronan was leaning over, one hand braced on the sink as he stared intently into the mirror shaving. Colleen waited a moment for the razor to not be on his skin before he spoke.

“Now there's a sight for sore eyes.”

Ronan peered over at him, the corner of his mouth twitching up. “What do your eyes have to be sore about?”

“Blinded by the beauty of two handsome men?”

February Flash

February Flash(back)

Inspiration for Crash Landing

Flash Fiction March 14, 2015

Collin looked up at the evening sky, seeing the first twinkling star emerge. “Starlight, Star bright,” he whispered, and then laughed at himself, shaking his head at his stupid thoughts. But what if…
It could never hurt to send a wish or prayer heavenward. And he did wish…

Wished he hadn’t had to endure the loss in his life, wished he had been able to let go sooner, maybe live a life not ruled by his past.

He glanced over at the shoreline to see the two unexpected men who’d stumbled into his life. And he wished they’d never leave.

December Flash II

December Flash(back) II

Something Sweet and Yummy for you!

Flash Fiction - December 24, 2014

“Boys,” he said, clapping his hands. Powdered sugar drifted down to dust us. Brett rolled off me and we stared up at him. The corner of Daddy’s mouth turned up, eyes sparkling. He pulled a candy cane from his apron pocket and handed it to Brett.

“I thought you boys were going to clean up this mess.”

“We got a little distracted,” Brett answered, sticking his tongue out to curl around the candy.

“Well, covered in sugar, you do look sweet.”

I held out a hand to Daddy in invitation. “Do you want a taste?”

“Don’t mind if I do…”
